What are Difflam Orange & Honey lozenges?

These Difflam lozenges are a treatment that works to reduce the effects of a sore throat. The lozenges work thanks to the active ingredient in them, benzydamine hydrochloride. Benzydamine is part of a group of drugs known as Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs, which help to reduce inflammation and pain in the throat. Use these lozenges to treat mouth and throat irritation and inflammation.

What causes a sore throat?

The primary reason that you may experience a sore throat is because of a virus, such as a cold or the flu. It can also be caused by smoking, and in rarer cases by bacteria in the throat. You will know if you have a sore throat if you experience the following symptoms:

  • A dry throat
  • Redness in the mouth

When children are suffering from a sore throat, they may also have a fever and appear less active than usual.

These lozenges are suitable to be used by adults and children aged 6 and over.
