What are Beechams Flu Plus Caplets?
Beechams Flu Plus is a form of treatment that works to provide relief for the symptoms of the flu as well as a cold. It works thanks to the three active ingredients contained in the caplets, which are:
- Paracetamol
- Phenylephrine
- Caffeine
Paracetamol is a painkiller that also helps to reduce fever if you have one. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that helps to unblock the nose and sinuses and helps you to breathe more easily. Caffeine is a mild stimulant that will reduce fatigue and help give you an energy boost.
What is the flu?
The flu, short for influenza, is an infection that is caused by a virus. Unlike a cold, where there are many different types, there are only three main types of flu:
- Type A
- Type B
- Type C
Type A and B are the most common types, as they are the ones that go around seasonally. Type C flu causes more minor respiratory issues. The flu can spread through the air by people coughing, sneezing, and also by germs. The germs can live on surfaces for up to 24 hours. The common symptoms associated with the flu include a blocked or a runny nose, coughing, sneezing, a headache, and feeling sick. There are more potential symptoms that you most likely not experience all of them at once.
