What is Numark Dry Tickly Cough?
This Numark treatment is a medicine that is a liquid solution that will help to clear a dry, tickly cough. The active ingredient in this medicine is glycerin, also known as glycerol. Glycerin is a lubricant that helps to help relieve an irritated throat which causes a dry, tickly cough. Glycerin is also used in some toothpaste, soaps, hair care treatments and even some laxatives.
What causes a dry cough?
A dry cough can be caused by a virus, such as a cold or the flu, an allergic reaction, or a more serious condition, such as chronic lung disease. A dry, tickly cough differs from a mucus cough as it is non-productive, which means that no mucus or phlegm is produced by a cough.
Who is this Numark cough medicine suitable for?
Numark Dry Tickly Cough medicine is suitable to be used by adults and children aged from 1 and over. It should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the ingredients in the liquid. Anyone who has or has had any of the following should speak to a medical professional before using:
- Kidney issues
- Intolerance to certain sugars
- Diabetes
- Using products containing potassium tartrate, carbonates, or bicarbonates
If you are currently using any medication for another condition, then speak to a doctor or pharmacist before using.
Can this medicine be used by someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, then do not use this medicine before consulting a doctor or pharmacist.
How should Numark Dry Tickly Cough be used?
For children aged 1-5, only 2.5ml of the liquid should be used per dose. It can be used up to four times a day. For children aged 6-12, double the dose to 5ml. For children over 12 and adults, the dose can go up to 10ml if it is needed. If any symptoms persist after using, stop using and speak to a doctor or pharmacist.
Are there any side effects?
A side effect is most likely the effect of an allergic reaction or excessive use. If you notice any side effects, then consult a doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. You can also record any side effect you notice using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
