What is Simple Linctus?
Simple Linctus is a remedy for mild coughs that aren’t caused by a specific ailment. If you have a dry, irritating cough and need fast relief, Simple Linctus could be the remedy you’ve been looking for. The active ingredient is citric acid, which is naturally contained in a number of citric fruits including lemons, oranges, and limes.
Why do I have a cough?
Most coughs are short-term problems and can be caused by a variety of reasons. Lots of people get a cough when they have a cold, but they can also be caused by infections in your respiratory tract. Another common cause of coughs is an allergy, such as hay fever or an allergy to animal hair. Sometimes, a cough can be caused by something as simple as inhaling dust or smoke.
How will Simple Linctus relieve my cough?
Simple Linctus contains the active ingredient citric acid monohydrate. This ingredient works to relieve your cough by coating the throat, relieving inflammation and irritation. Most coughs will clear up by themselves within three weeks, but in the meantime, Simple Linctus can help to provide the relief you need.
Do I need a prescription to order Simple Linctus?
You do not need a prescription to buy Simple Linctus, but you should always read the patient information leaflet thoroughly before using this product.
How should Simple Linctus be taken?
Take one or two 5ml spoonfuls (5 – 10ml) of Simple Linctus up to four times a day. Do not take more than 8 x 5ml spoonfuls in one day.
When should Simple Linctus not be taken?
Simple Linctus is not suitable for children under the age of 12. Do not take Simple Linctus if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed in the patient information leaflet. Citric acid may interact with potassium tartrate, carbonates and bicarbonates. Do not take simple linctus if you are currently taking products containing any of these ingredients. Simple Linctus contains 8.6g of sucrose per 10ml dose, please take this into account if the patient has diabetes mellitus.
What should I do if I notice a side effect?
